Best way to remove a lot of stumps?
I recently traded 30 acres of timber for 30 acres of stumps (and some cash
). Now I want to clear and grade these 30 acres to build a mobile home park. I need a cheap and effective way to remove thousands of stumps (mostly 6″-24″ pines) quickly. I do not have years for chemicals to work, more like a few weeks. Obviously I want to do this as cheap as possible, and paying someone with a backhoe $150 a hour to pull/remove the stumps could cost more than the trees sold for. Grinding the stumps would be cheaper, but still several thousand. I was thinking about buying some used motor oil from local automotive repair shops, hiring a couple of people to soak the stumps, and then come back a couple of days later to burn them. Is this feasible, or will it take weeks for the stumps to burn down? Time and money are of the essence! Any other suggestions are more than welcome too!!!
Also, I seen a lot of jokes about dynomite, but I wonder if it would really be time and cost effective or have someone come in and blow them out? Has anyone ever had this done?
Is this the best boat deal in Costa rica, a charter boat & charter company. seller takes interesting trade?
This 32 ft x 10 ft beam center console built in 2006, with 4 stroke outboards. Is this not the perfect charter boat for Costa Rica. The boat comes with all licences and an active web site. Also rods and reel etc. The boat is built like a blackfin, real stronge. The guy wants $ 55,000.00 or best offer $125,000 invested. He is selling because he has 2 boats and wants slow down a little. He wants at least $ 25,000 cash plus he would consider interesting trades like , smaller boat fro the rivers, truck, car, land, backhoe, buldozer etc. Is it eaiser to sell something when you can trade for part of it. He tried www.ricaboats.com they did not comment on the trade aspect. also www.boatquest.com
did not answer his listing. the only broker left was www.costaricaboatsales.com but he wanted to try and go straight to the cuctomer. the boat is on www.costaricafishingdeals.com is the barter system not the best way to go since cash is exclusive. Buying a turn key boat charter company as a retiring type business not a good way to wind down ?
Whats the best way to get rid of roots?
We are clearing some of our property we bought and it is full of nothing but bushes, weeds, brush, sticker and such. No trees, just junk. We have it cleared but are left with lots of little sturdy stumps. to many to dig or pull. Any other method other than renting a big backhoe or whatever people use?
What is the best truck to buy?
Ford f-250, chevy silverado 2500HD, gmc sierra 2500HD, or dodge ram 2500. I know that chevy and gmc trucks are both made the same and in the same factory. But I heard that gmc trucks have more stander features that chevy. But I need a truck that can tow tractors with a front end loader and a backhoe and carry lots of loads in the bed of the truck. So witch truck will last the longest, haul and tow the most, best to own, and overall the best.
What’s the best place to get low-cost, clean fill dirt?
Recently I needed major work on my home sewer line, which involved digging up the yard with backhoes. Now that the work is done the exposed dirt is settling and we need to fill in some spots. It’ll probably be about one pickup-load of dirt. What’s the best way to find an inexpensive source of low-cost (or free) fill? Or, maybe more to the point, are there particular kinds of sources that I should avoid because of contamination?
